The quiz show that puts obscure knowledge to the test. In 'Pointless' contestants try to score as few points as possible by plumbing the depths of their general knowledge to come up with the answers no-one else can think of. Every question has already been asked before the show to a panel of 100 people - to find out the most obvious and the most obscure answers. Pairs of contestants compete for a cash prize by finding the least obvious answers and scoring the fewest points. Points correspond to the number of people who answered the survey. The holy grail is a pointless answer - a correct answer that none of the 100 people thought of. If a contestant is able to find that answer in the short time allotted he earns the unbeatable score of zero. On the other hand, if the contestant’s answer has been said by a lot of people in the panel, he’s slammed with many points, putting him at great risk for elimination. In the end, the person with the lowest overall score walks away with the cash prize. (source: endemoldistribution.com)
