To support live TV viewing, Sat.1 Germany will air a 2-night event this Friday and Saturday. 'Guinness World Records – Die große Show der Weltrekorde' will feature attempts to break more than 20 world records live on TV. It will be accompanied by a 24-hour live stream on Joyn, as one of the records will take a full day to complete.
RTL Germany will test a new, locally developed prime-time quiz show format '7 Richtige – Das Quiz der Besserwisser' from i&u TV Produktion. "Anyone who likes Who Wants to Be a Millionaire will love this format," says the broadcaster. In the show, contestants compete for a spot on the podium, where they get the chance to win a cash prize. Two episodes will air in September before 'Millionaire' returns to Monday nights.
On Sunday, Channel 4 UK debuts 'The Inheritance', a reality game show from All3Media. Contestants fight for a fortune, balancing teamwork with betrayal in a game of wit and persuasion.
SBS6 Netherlands is launching a new daily game show in the weekday 7 PM slot. 'Prijzenjacht' (Prize Hunt), developed by Talpa Studios , pits two teams against each other in a series of games to guess the correct prices.
More launches in the coming days: Apple TV+ bows 'Kpopped', a star-filled song battle with unexpected reinterpretations of iconic hits; strategic reality competition 'The Power' from M6 Formats gets a German version on Joyn; and RTÉ introduces the Irish adaptation of 'The Traitors'.
ITV UK has ordered 'Nobody's Fool', a strategic reality quiz, where the fate of contestants isn't decided by how smart they are, but how smart others think they are. Produced by ITV Studios, the show will premiere in 2026.
Channel 4 has commissioned 'Worlds Apart' (w/t), a reality adventure competition pairing pensioners with Gen Z travellers on a treasure hunt across Japan.
And BBC One has greenlit 'Wild Reckoning', with Bear Grylls and a team of experts helping people resolve personal rifts in the Welsh wilderness, combining conflict resolution with the healing power of nature.
